Karuna Vihar takes its name from a very special person – Karuna Chopra: Moy Moy’s Dadi and my beloved mother-in-law. She turned 91 today and in honor of the occasion, she consented to take a day off. Normally, her days are packed with work – even at this age, she still teaches students from around the neighborhood and is responsible for quantum leaps in most of their grades. Lately, she’s added fundraising to her “to do” list and has been calling friends and relatives with requests that they donate either to our building fund or to PSI’s.
Since the morning, she has been receiving phone calls from her friends, admirers and family members around the world. By lunchtime, granddaughter Manisha and great-grandsons Sunny and Joy arrived from Delhi to celebrate. Youngest daughter Nutan gets in on Monday from America for a two-week visit – so the party just goes on and on!
Remarkable lady!… A Very Snuggly, Happy Birthday to her…
Thanks for sharing the link. This is really a cheerful, full-of-hope, energy-giving blog :0)
Hi Jo,
Thanks for sending this link. It’s a great way to keep in touch. I’ve attached the link to my blog which at the moment consists mainly of my articles. But I hope to develop it further.
Please wish Ravi’s mother from me. I don’t suppose she’ll remember who I am but I do remember meeting her when they lived in Charni Road.
And the very best to you and Ravi and the kids,
Kalpu
Happy birthday Mummy ji I am glad to see they gave you a day off for your birthday!
Belated happy birthday. Wish I had wished her on her birthday itself.
