Mary seems to defy nature – she grows more beautiful every time I see her.

At Mom’s funeral, her eyes shone with tears and with love and all of us felt so lucky that she had been there throughout, overseeing every detail of Mom’s care and making sure that she was comfortable and pain-free till the end.

It’s not easy being both a doctor and a daughter. Mary played those two roles so gracefully – caring for Mom as the finest medical professional, yet always remembering the essential bond that brought her there in the first place.

I think that’s what makes her such a wonderful doctor for all her other patients: she never forgets that they are all related to someone; that they are mothers and fathers and husbands and wives, and that her care for them extends to those who love them. It’s what we all look for in a doctor. How blessed her patients are!

Mary made my life easier. I called Mary no matter how big or small the issue. You know what? Mary never made me feel like a fool. Looking back, some of my queries were foolish. Mary is a love. I love Mary.
