As I said in an earlier post, Martha is my oldest friend. We met in fifth grade and have been friends ever since. She’s been my touchstone all my life – the person I return to for wisdom and strength and perspective and she has never let me down. In spite of our differences – me the maverick and iconoclast; she the brilliant scholar, the two of us have ended up in the same field. The real difference, of course, is that she actually knows what she’s doing! She has a doctorate in special education and what she knows that I don’t would fill the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and then some.

So what’s the answer? I am working on a plan to get her to India. This is a consultant who could totally change our approach to special education. We need to get her over here, to see what we are doing so she can better advise us as to what we need to be looking at and how we should be growing and developing. So exciting!

Jo, we all know that if you are working on a plan , then it means that its just about to happen ! We will be very happy to have Martha come over here and be our consultant.

A feild like special education always needs new ideas and perspectives of different people on how things can be done in a better way.

Looking forward to meeting this wonderful person and a great teacher.
