The Moms Pitch In

I walked up to the terrace this morning, looking for a bit of sun to warm up in. Every available sunbeam was already occupied by a group of Latika Moms, hard at work with scissors, tape and transparent plastic sheets.

It was the Book-Covering Committee and with our library scheduled to open in March and with hundreds of books being purchased from bookstores and publishers around the country, they’ve got their hands full.

Supported by a generous grant from our “WE LOVE BOOKS’ friends at Nuvama Group, the library is like another child for many of us. Creating one has been a lifelong dream for Rupa Bishnoi and getting the parents involved has been her superpower. It was her idea to get them to volunteer to cover the books – and their commitment to the project is next level.

“Have you read any of these?” I asked. “No chance,” they scoffed. “Right now, we’re BUILDING this library. There’ll be plenty of time later to sit in the new place and enjoy the books.”
