Salil Das is a development professional and entrepreneur based in Dehradun. With over two decades of experience in the development sector, he worked extensively with the People’s Science Institute, contributing to initiatives in some of India’s most poorest districts across Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh. He has a background in computer sciences, which has complemented his work across development and entrepreneurial initiatives. In 2013, he founded Tender Leaves, a Dehradun-based landscaping and plant enterprise, bringing together his interest in nature, design, and sustainable green spaces.
Beyond his professional work, Salil is an avid photographer who enjoys engaging with creative projects. His work reflects a combination of social commitment, entrepreneurship, and a lasting appreciation for the natural environment. He designed the landscaping, playground and interior greenery for our new space and in our years working with him on the building we have all discovered a new advocate and friend for our children as well as an unusually sensitive human being. His relations with a wide range of people at very different levels of society are unusual and inspiring.
