This year the Latika Roy Foundation has a new logo and a new name. We are now just Latika. Our love, respect and gratitude for Latika Roy the woman remains undimmed. Our shorter, still sweet name combines the gift of her life with the simplicity of our vision:
Embrace Your Difference.
Not complicated, not controversial: this is pure common sense. We are ALL different, each with our own special way of being in the world, each with our own fears, gifts, quirks and perspectives. Disabled people are part of the whole tangled, complex ball of humanity like everyone else: not special, not holy, not set apart. They’re just people with all the same oddities as the rest of us. When we recognize and embrace the things that make US different we can accept everyone else’s differences too.
