Dr Satendra Singh

Satendra became an activist when he faced professional discrimination for being disabled. He has since embraced the human rights model of disability and championed the cause of inclusion and rights, spearheading several policy reforms. He has been honored by the President of India with the National Award for making elections in India accessible to disabled citizens and is the first Indian recipient of the Henry Viscardi Achievement Award. He serves as amicus curiae for the Supreme Court of India, advocating for the rights of learners with disabilities in medical admissions and heads of Doctors with Disabilities: Agents of Change – a group of disabled health professionals dedicated to social justice.
