This is Lucy’s room in the guest house. She and the boys will have to share the bed, and I am hoping they wiggle less in their sleep than they do when wide awake. They are small, action-packed people, on the go from morning till night!

This is a room with an illustrious history! Our first guests here were Nick and Maya, along with their two kids Leland and Manali. They were wonderful volunteers whom we are still hoping to entice back for another long stay. After they left, Paula took over the house and jazzed it up enormously by painting the horrible metal trim a beautiful green and investing in furniture, curtains and rugs. While she was still there, Edmund and Angie came and stayed in this room (Paula’s was down the hall).

And now it’s Lucy and the boys’ turn. And in two weeks, they will be joined by Bridget, a volunteer speech therapist who will be with us till December.

Our ever-vigilant neighbors are delighted the house is occupied again. They keep a watchful eye on the place, but often remind us that an empty house is a terrible thing.

Maybe someone should mention that to John McCain?
