Shaila worked at the Foundation for several years – even continuing for a year as Networking Coordinator after moving to Delhi because we couldn’t bear to let her go and she couldn’t bear to leave.

But all good things come to an end (they say – whoever THEY are) and Shaila moved to Chennai and took a job at Standard Chartered Bank. Since then, she has mysteriously dropped out of sight – we still get the occasional cryptic email or SMS, but we yearn for the old days when the inbox was perpetually chock-a-block with her long, insightful, exhorting messages, stirring us both to action and reflection.

Today is her birthday and we celebrate the wonderful contributions she made to the Foundation and look forward to the day when she returns to the fold.

Come home, Shaila! All is forgiven.
