Monday is all about introductions. Children need time to settle in; parents need time to let down their guards; we need time to get to know a brand new group of special children and their families.
Tuesday is about motor development. The physiotherapist takes the lead and designs activities to help him evaluate each child’s physical status.
Wednesday is about medical diagnostics. Children are sent for a range of tests and procedures – hearing and vision assessments, blood tests, xrays and scans as needed. Almost all procedures are done at the Doon Hospital for free or at nominal rates.
Thursday, it’s all about communication and language development. The Special Educator is in charge and games and activities are designed to assess a child’s social skills and communication abilities.
Wrap it up!On Friday, the team meets with each family to go over the week’s experiences and present parents with a comprehensive picture of their child’s development, special needs and home management plan.
